White-label SEO for web design agencies

Your clients ask “will this rank?” as soon as the site launches. Add defined SEO work around your website projects, before and after launch, without hiring a specialist and without promising rankings.

Three-phase diagram of SEO in a website project: before launch, launch week and after launch, with the checks in each phase.
Where diagnostic SEO work fits around a website launch.

The problem

Launches are when SEO goes wrong

Most search problems after a redesign come from a handful of avoidable mistakes made at launch. A short, defined review catches them while they're cheap to fix.

  • Old URLs not redirected, so visitors and links hit errors.
  • A staging site, or a no-index setting, left in place after go-live.
  • Templates shipping with duplicate titles and missing headings.
  • Local business details changing on the site but not on the profile.
  • Heavy hero media slowing the pages that matter most on mobile.

Proposal line items

How to add SEO to a website proposal

Separate, defined items your client can accept or decline. Each one is diagnosis or delivery you can verify, not a ranking promise.

Example SEO line items for a website project
Pre-launch SEO reviewStaging crawl, redirect map check, template reviewBefore go-live
Post-launch checkLive crawl, Search Console, redirect spot-checksLaunch week
Local setupProfile and citations per locationAfter launch
Ongoing visibilityAgreed monthly link buildingOptional, recurring

Audits diagnose and recommend; your developers implement, which keeps the build in your hands.

Questions

Web design agencies ask

Can you review a site before it launches?
That's the best time. A staging review needs crawl access to the staging site, usually through temporary credentials for the staging environment that you control and revoke, never client account passwords.
Will you change our code?
No. Audits produce findings and recommendations. Your team decides what to implement and how.
Can we include SEO without promising rankings?
Yes, and you should. Sell defined deliverables, such as a launch review, local setup or a number of placements, and report on them. Rankings depend on far more than any single piece of work.
Will our client know a partner was involved?
Reports are unbranded so you can present them as your agency's. By default we don't contact your clients. If a client asks whether you use partners, answer honestly.
